MTN Late Chat winners to fly out

Kampala, Uganda: MTN Late Chat promotion winners are scheduled to fly out on February 12 as part of their prize package. The promotion which ran from September to December 2009 climaxed with Pamela Mugerwa – a student at Makerere University – emerging winner of the grand prize, an all expenses paid trip to Dubai with two friends courtesy of MTN and Nokia Uganda. 
 
“MTN Late Chat is an exciting product specifically designed and targeted towards the lifestyles and spending patterns of our young customers. The promotion we carried out at the end of last year aimed to focus on the things the youth are passionate about like music, fun, friends and being part of the global village. Our winner, Pamela Mugerwa has chosen the friends she will be traveling to Dubai with and these are Paula Iga and Fiona Asea both from Makerere University. They will be leaving on February 12th on Emirates Airlines and return on February 15th,” said MTN’s Youth Segment Manager Gasper Mbowa, who will also be traveling with the winners.

The promotion actively engaged the youth market in various Universities, colleges and schools in numerous activations. During the activations students won themselves brand new Nokia 2600 phones ,IPods’, Umbrellas, gift hampers from MTN and Nokia bringing to the total number of beneficiaries from the promotion to 400,000.
 
To enter the draw one was required to buy a Nokia 2600 phone or send an MMS to friend and the more one sent the higher their chances of winning were.
 
MTN Late Chat tariff – offers the best per second rate with discounts of as low as UGX 1 per second every weeknight and on Saturday from 9pm until Monday 6am at UGX 35 per SMS. (These rates only apply to Late Chat to Late Chat calls and SMS; to activate late chat dial *151*4#).
