MTN Uganda records more than 85% growth in Data Customers – MTN Internet Expo moved to Gulu Northern Uganda


MTN Uganda customers using the Internet have increased more than 85% in the last 12 months leading up to June 2013 , said Ernst Fonternel, MTN Uganda Chief Marketing Officer.

He attributed their phenomenal growth in Internet customers with more than 1.6 million added to their expanding data footprint with superior speeds, unmatched airtime availability, affordable Internet dongles and bundles as well as their World-class Internet technologies supporting up to 100Mbps with 4G LTE.


21st June, 2013: MTN Uganda Hands over 21 Scholarships under 21 days of Y’ello care.

MTN Uganda has today handed over 21 scholarships to lucky students who participated and excelled in an online aptitude exam under MTN Uganda’s 21 days of Y’ello Care. There were 5 regional winners from the Central, Northern, Western and Eastern/Southern each with an overall winner Joseph Owori, a student from Namilyango College; he had the highest score.

Over 250 students across Uganda take part in MTN’s Y'ello Care Aptitude tests

Today, over 250 students from a cross Uganda are set to take part in an online aptitude exam to win a fully paid scholarship from MTN Uganda. The winners will be announced on the 21st of June.

MTN Uganda staff volunteerism initiative "21 Days of Y'ello Care" 2013 goes to Arua

MTN Uganda has launched the schools e-learning platform in partnership with Gayaza High school. The team travelled to Mvara Secondary School in Arua which is the selected hub school for the Northern regions. This will open up vast opportunities for students in the North and West Nile to access relevant educational material on the internet.

June 2013: MTN donates iPads for learners with special needs

Johannesburg – In keeping with its new vision 'to lead the delivery of a bold, new digital world to our customers', MTN will donate 10 iPads to learners with special needs at St Vincent School for the Deaf in Melrose, Johannesburg today.
