The MTN Uganda Foundation is a not-for-profit legal entity that was inaugurated in July 2007 as a vehicle through which MTN U implements its’ Corporate Social Investments (CSI). The Foundation strives to improve the quality of life in communities where MTN Uganda operates in a sustainable way.

The MTN Uganda Foundation invests resources for social redress, thus empowering people by skills transfer, preserving and nurturing their heritage, culture and arts, supporting sports and sports development.

Our Mission:

To improve the quality of life, through caring partnerships, in communities where MTN operates.

For us CSI is about equitable and sustainable socio-economic development actively engaging in proactive self-regulation.

Our Objective:

To promote an active solidarity between MTN Uganda and the communities within which we operate, take part in activities of general interest having a philanthropic focus education, science & technology, music, arts & culture, health, habitat for humanity and other actions of humanitarian character or in contributing to the promotion or protection of material heritage and national culture.

The strategic objectives of the MTN Foundation Sponsorships are formulated to address national needs, which are:

  • Education
  • Health 
  • Arts & Culture 
  • Environment 
  • Community Development 
  • Low Cost housing/Shelter

The MTN U Foundation partners with both public and non-profit credible organizations to execute sustainable projects in each of the chosen focus areas. MTNF receives and processes proposals quarterly. The Foundation is committed to ensuring that the selection and approval of its projects are conducted in a manner that is transparent, systematic, efficient, and effective while promoting its mission. As such, approved guidelines are strictly adhered to, in the selection of projects and partner organizations.
